PURCHASE DESCRIPTION
Summary: Quonset Fire & Emergency Services plans to install a new stationary air compressor that is dedicated for Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) refill. Vendor shall provide and install the compressor, with all required components, as well as instruct a class of up to 6 personnel on proper use of the compressor. Vendor shall also be responsible for providing quarterly air sample
testing along with required annual maintenance.
2. Scope:
Contractor is responsible for all labor, equipment, tools, materials, parts, supplies, transportation, supervision, and any other items and services necessary.
Air Compressor:
a. Provide and install one air compressor which is capable of filling at least 3 MSA air bottles simultaneously to 6000 psi. Must produce air that meets the standards outlined in NFPA 1989 (Standard on Breathing Air Quality for
Emergency Services).
b. Power connection will be provided by the government.
c. Equipment installation and start up shall be performed by the manufacturer certified technicians. Commissioning shall be performed in accordance with the manufacturer requirements, to include testing all gauges and alarms. If certain devices were tested during the manufacturing process, the contractor shall provide that documentation.
d. During the commissioning process, factory authorized personnel shall provide Quonset Fire & Emergency Services staff of 6 a training and troubleshooting class.
e. Provide one year of warranty for material and workmanship from the date of startup.
Maintenance Responsibility:
Provide Quarterly Air Sample tests and required annual maintenance which meets the standards of NFPA 1989 (Standard on Breathing Air Quality for Emergency Services).
