Specifications include, but are not limited to: The TopMatch-3D High-Capacity Scanning and Analysis System consists of the patented High-Capacity 3D Scanner and the TopMatch Analysis Software for acquisition, virtual comparison/verification, databasing feature of any fired cartridge case submitted to the laboratory for analysis. Bullet acquisition upgrade will be provided when available at no additional cost to agency. Idaho State Police Forensic Services (ISPFS) will use the TopMatch 3D High Capacity Scanning and analysis system, consumables and software licenses will be used to perform 3D acquisitions/renditions of fired cartridge cases, and bullets(future) with the ability to perform virtual comparisons and verifications for firearms casework from cases all over Idaho. The TopMatch system will allow also allow ISPFS to begin building and maintaining a database of all fired evidence submitted, making additional comparison requests more streamline. The database will be comprised of submitted evidence and Firearm test fires that can be used for searching related cases and or potential firearms. 1). At this time, Cadre is the only manufacturer and distributor of the TopMatch 3D HighCapacity instrument, software and consumables that are needed for operation of this instrument. While 3D acquisition of firearms evidence is fairly unique with a limited number of vendors providing the instrumentation for acquisition, virtual comparisons and database capabilities, this application of the acquisition integrating gel-pad technology is 3D topographical acquisition is unique and highly customized for this instrument and this application.
