All correspondence must be made through the Vendor Portal. Specifications include, but are not limited to: Perform hands-on examination of each piece of operational equipment, each element, and the surrounding environment all to the most current ACCT/ANSI standards and practices for challenge course inspections. The examination shall include, but is not limited to the following: o Trees: Note tree size and species, look for damage caused by insects and weather, check for dead fall, and work with a certified tree warden if necessary. o Structures: If building or structures are used in the design of the course, inspect the connections to the structures, monitor for metal fatigue, inspect for broken or cracked welds, etc. o Wire Rope: All wire rope used for belay lines, zip lines, guy line, and foot lines will be inspected for appropriate terminations, proper drape, tension, defects, and rusting. o Rope: All ropes will be inspected for appropriate use, storage, and record keeping. o Bolts: If through bolts are used in the design of the course, all bolts will be inspected for wear, rusting, and growth in trees. o Lumber: All lumber will be inspected for aging and protruding nails and screws. Additionally all lumber used for structural elements like a platform will be inspected for wear, rusting, and growth into trees. o Personal Safety Gear: All helmets, harnesses, and hardware shall be inspected for compliance. Inspectors shall be prepared to perform small minor repairs, such as, but not limited to the following: o Adding steps to gain access to something that needs to be inspected. o Loosening or replacing tight backup cables on course in trees. o Replacing overgrown cables. o Replacing missing serving sleeves. o Replacing rusted belay cables, cable clamps, or rapid links. o Adding missing cable clamps or adjusting improperly installed clamps. o Tightening of bolts. o Tightening guy lines or tension cables. o Adjusting zip line tensions.
