We are seeking a teaching environment that allows the user (student teacher) to teach and interact with virtual/avatar children/adults. The teaching environment should be able to support multiple environments such as a middle school classroom, parent-teacher conference, individual or small group counseling sessions, etc. This is not a simulation. Avatars have specific characteristics but are controlled by an operator outside of the student-teacher room. A video camera allows the operator to see the student teacher. The virtual classroom can be projected on a large wall or large 80-90 inch monitor. - It is not necessary for participants to be able to view each other’s desktop, as in a web-based meeting. The goal is for student teachers to teach in a room in front of the projected classroom. It is not a requirement to have other participants view the environment. - The classroom webcam will be used to project the student teacher to the operator of the aviators. It is not necessary for participants to be able to use their webcam to broadcast. - It is not necessary for facilitators to schedule sessions in the solution. We can handle all scheduling, but we are not opposed to creating a scheduling feature in the application.
