Specifications include, but are not limited to: South Haymarket Park will be a new, high amenity, urban park that serves as a catalyst for redevelopment of areas around the former industrial site southwest of downtown Lincoln. The proposal represents years of planning and community feedback that recommended a new neighborhood park to serve the downtown area. The park will promote health equity and a livable community for all residents. Amenities will include an open lawn for gathering and informal play, an interactive water feature, a destination playground, an off-leash dog park, park shelters and an in-ground skate park. It will also include a commuter/recreational trail system connector between the N Street bike lane and the north terminus of the Jamaica Trail near 4th and J Streets.
