Specifications include, but are not limited to: Salt Lake County Facilities Management, on behalf of Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office (“County”) is soliciting proposals from qualified architectural/engineering firms (“A/E”) to provide a feasibility study, design, bidding, construction administration and warranty period services for the Adult Detention Center (ADC) Roof Top Mechanical Units located at 3415 S 900 W, South Salt Lake, UT; 2.2.1 Update the existing evaporative mechanical units to Direct Expansion (“DX”) mechanical units. As the County has performed one phase already, structural changes to the building are prohibited for the design of the new units. The existing units have passed their lifespan and are failing. This project is to design phases 2-5 within the overall 12-phase project. The RTUs on B-POD were phase 1. The County’s project team will select the RTUs for each subsequent phase, which RTUs may be located anywhere on the ADC (phases 2-5 will contain approximately 15-20 units). 2.2.2 Update the controls for each unit from pneumatic to electric for phases 2-5. The A/E will be required to coordinate design with Johnson Controls and use their proprietary system. Including chemical prep and smoke dampers. 2.2.3 Each new unit will need a walk path, stairs, and guard rail system to assess the RTUs without ladders to perform maintenance. 2.2.4 As each phase is less than the county LEED project fund size requirement and this is a replacement project, LEED requirements will not be needed. However, the A/E will need to meet all energy codes and requirements to achieve the highest energy rating possible.
