Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall accomplish all fire extinguisher inspections and tests of the fire extinguishers covered by this document. Equipment or devices found not to be operating properly are to be corrected immediately. The Contractor shall be on-call for extinguishers that may have been discharged or damaged. Services shall include, but are not limited to, the provision of qualified labor; supervision; transportation (when and where required); establishment and maintenance of records; all parts, tools, and equipment. The Contractor shall ensure the extinguishers are properly hung with signs to meet current codes. Inspections shall include the inspection tag, tag seal, pin seal, fluffing and cleaning of extinguishers. Inspection tags shall be fluorescent and easily visible with the name, phone number and license number of the Contractor. Work must be performed in accordance with the applicable sections of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) code and all other applicable codes/regulations. Equipment Covered: There are approximately 500 fire extinguishers on the Gorham campus, 600 on the Portland campus; 45 on the Lewiston-auburn campus. The types of services and numbers of units last year are shown below. The quantities are approximate only. The contract shall cover the actual needs of the University throughout the term of the contract regardless of whether they are more or less than the quantities shown. • 1,200 extinguishers inspect/tag • 20 replacement extinguishers, type ABC 10# • 30 - 10# dry chemical recharge • 10 - 5# dry chemical recharge • 170 dry chemical hydrostatic tests • 30 CO2 hydrostatic tests
