Specifications include, but are not limited to: Phase 2 improves the east end of the corridor. Phase 2 will include approximately 1,400 feet of full street reconstruction and widening of McGilchrist Street. The intersection at 25th Street SE will be completely reconstructed and widened to provide for an eastbound double-left turn on McGilchrist, and a dedicated northbound left turn lane on 25th Street SE with tapers back to the existing 4-lane section on 25th. A new traffic signal will replace the existing signal to accommodate the new intersection configuration. The new McGilchrist Street section will include modifications to provide pedestrian and bike facilities from one end of the project to the other. The pedestrian and bicycle facilities will eventually connect from 12th Street SE to 25th Street SE with future phases. The Phase 2 McGilchrist Street SE section will include a 4-lane section extending east to match the Phase 1 improvements approaching the Ford Street SE intersection. Phase 3 improves the west end of the corridor from the limits of the Phase 1 work at 22nd Street SE to the 12th Street intersection, approximately 2,800 feet long. This segment includes three signalized intersections: 12th Street SE, 13th Street SE, and Pringle Road SE. The 3 intersections will include signal replacements Phase 3 also includes the West Fork Pringle Creek culvert replacement and widens the atgrade track crossing at the Union Pacific Railroad mainline immediately west of the creek crossing. The Phase 3 McGilchrist Street section is typically 3 lanes with bicycle facilities and sidewalks, and additional widening for turn lanes at the 3 signalized intersections. Pringle Road will require widening approximately 400 feet south of the McGilchrist intersection to accommodate necessary widening and tapers.
