Specifications include, but are not limited to: HDOT is requesting information from potential vendors or agencies willing to conduct the following for the following: Partner with Hawaii Department of Transportation in identifying priority communities that are prominent on the ALICE or socio needs index and are impacted by traffic related injuries and fatalities. These communities may include, but are not limited to, individuals experiencing homelessness, emergency and transitional housing residents, and public housing tenants. Partner with selected underserved communities and individuals across the state to identify strategies that will improve transportation safety. Identify and acquire contextually appropriate supplies and information to provide to underserved communities. Deliver supplies and information that are intended for the underserved community. Acquire feedback from communities that they would identify as areas of concern that could be addressed by enforcement, messaging, engineering, policy, or additional resources. Any additional information submitted that is not listed above would be welcome. This requested information will be used to prepare a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a single Statewide Vulnerable Road Users Outreach vendor to continue the Safe Streets Program on all counties in Hawaii.
