Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Davenport, Iowa is seeking qualifications from engineering firms for the planning, associated design, and implementation of a Railroad Quiet Zone along the City’s riverfront. The proposed Quiet Zone consists of fourteen public and private crossings along the Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad (CPKC). This project will consist of reviewing the proposed safety measures, applying for waivers for alternate safety measures, design, coordination, construction assistance and otherwise completing the work necessary for the approval and establishment of the proposed Quiet Zone. The consultant shall lead the effort to develop the final product conforming to all Federal Rail Administration (FRA) and Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) standards, guidance and regulations as they pertain to the establishment of the Quiet Zone. 1. Assist with executing design and construction agreement between City of Davenport and CPKC. 2. Assist with Reclassification of private crossings to public crossings. 3. Design required safety measures for each crossing and coordinate with FRA, IDOT, City, and CPKC to develop approved plan. 4. Coordinate and assist in establishment of Quiet Zone through project corridor.
