Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State is seeking a qualified and experienced Contractor to provide quality, efficient and effective services and deliverables as described in Section 2.2, Scope of Work. DHS has a backlog of program and benefit applications and inquiries due to several factors; lingering effects of the COVID19 pandemic, staff attrition from retirements and attrition, and inability to fill staff positions in current labor environment. The current BESSD application and request for program benefit backlog exceeds acceptable levels with continued pressure to reduce and respond to applicant and client demands. DHS staff reductions through attrition and retirements have lowered the Department’s ability to address application and redetermination backlog, while balancing other program and benefit activities. The current workload and demands out pace our ability to address the increased workload in the timeframe required by the state and federal guidelines.
