Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking bids for Real-time academic transcription services including Communication Access Real-Time Translation (CART) or TypeWell Services. 1. CART is a word-for-word, near-verbatim, speech-to-text interpreting service for people who have hearing loss and would not be able to fully participate otherwise. 2. TypeWell provides a transcript based on meaning rather than the word for word translation provided by CART. 3. KUMC needs a contractor who can provide services for the main campus in Kansas City, the Salina campus, and the Wichita campus. 4. The CART/TypeWell transcriber must have appropriate certification(s) per market standards, including certification through the National Court Reporting Association and/or TypeWell Certified. 5. Bidders must provide evidence/copies of certifications for all individuals who they anticipate will provide services for this contract. 6. Bidders must also provide a list of up to five other customers, preferably other educational institutions, to whom these services have been provided in the last three years. 7. The winning contractor must provide and support all equipment required to provide on-site CART/ TypeWell services. 8. In their proposals, bidders must give a detailed description of how the services will be provided. 9. The cost worksheet includes a list of anticipated services. Please add any other services that are applicable to the request. 10. Required services are initially anticipated to be only on the Kansas City campus, with a minimum of 15 hours weekly during the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters. Schedule will be provided once it is available, which is anticipated to be early August, 2023. 11. Services are required beginning the first day of the fall 2023 semester, which is August 21, 2023.
