Specifications include, but are not limited to: g professional design services for the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Kentucky School for the Deaf (KSD) and Kentucky School for Blind (KSB) to renovate dormitory and Future Farmers of America (FFA) cottages. This project includes renovations to existing dormitories at the Kentucky School for the Deaf and the Kentucky School for the Blind as well as three cottages at the Future Farmers of America Leadership Training Center to improve energy efficiency, new wiring, windows, doors, wall insulation and HVAC units to allow for year-round use and improve student conditions. The priority focus for dormitory will be KSD Middleton Hall. Middleton Hall roof is being reroofed via a separate project. Middleton Hall HVAC has the possibility of being done via a separate HVAC Pool. The design team will need to coordinate with the Owner’s separate projects in planning and cost estimation. The FFA cottages are currently being addressed in a separate project through this same fund. Currently there is approximately $6,000,000 remaining for the Middleton Hall renovation and that will be confirmed through the design process by DECA. DECA reserves the option to increase design services if funding becomes available.
