Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Indianapolis is interested in partnering with a qualified and experienced firm for the operation, collection, and disposal for the City’s ToxDrop and ToxAway Day Household Hazardous Waste program. The City of Indianapolis ToxDrop and ToxAway Day Household Hazardous Waste program began in 1997. The program charter is to provide for the collection of household hazardous wastes to its residents in response to community concerns about toxic wastes in the environment. The objectives of the program were to provide a point of contact for educating the public about the safe use, storage, disposal and alternatives to Household Hazardous Waste products, and to help reduce the release of this waste to storm drains, landfill, and the sanitary sewer.
