Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. Specifications include, but are not limited to: This is a public notice of Salt Lake City Corporation’s intent to waive a competitive solicitation process. The Salt Lake City Procurement Code and Rules provide that the competitive solicitation requirements for certain procurements may be waived under some circumstances and when there is reasonable justification for such waiver. The Purchasing & Contracts Management Division has received a request to waive the competitive solicitation requirement to procure the products and services identified above based on the justification and reasons listed. The Salt Lake City Police Department (“SLCPD”) is currently short approximately 80 vehicles for their employed officers. Due to supply chain issues Salt Lake City has not been able to source new vehicles to meet the operational needs of SLCPD. Typically, the City purchases these types of vehicles through State of Utah Cooperative contracts. However, the manufacturers are not currently accepting orders for the required vehicles and they aren’t planning on opening the ordering window until Fall of 2023. TNT Auctions has recently taken in 32 vehicles, from other Police agencies, with the majority of police vehicle equipment still installed. It has been determined to be in the best interest of the City to purchase these used vehicles through TNT Auctions, in order to bridge the gap until the City has the ability to purchase new vehicles through cooperative contracts.
