Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County desires to solicit competitive proposals from responsible vendors to provide public safety police uniforms, duty gear, accessories, and miscellaneous items and alternation services for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, Athens, Georgia for a one-year period, with the option to extend the contract for four additional one-year terms if agreed upon by all parties. The contractor shall provide uniforms, and miscellaneous items and accessories, as ordered, for approximately 320 employees (256 sworn / 64 civilian) for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department on an as needed basis. 1. All uniform clothing items shall be custom fitted in Athens, Georgia, to include alterations of waist and inseam of pants, waist or length of skirts and tape of shirts if requested. Non-local vendors shall maintain a facility for custom fitting or alterations within Athens-Clarke County. 2. Shirts and jackets shall be delivered with shoulder patches, rank insignia, and/or embroidery sewn on as ordered. Prices shall be given for shirts or jackets without any patches, rank insignia, or any embroidery. Prices for pants shall include 1st time alterations and hems if necessary. 3. The contractor shall stock sufficient emergency quantities of items shown on the price schedule to meet the requirements of the Police Department on an “as needed” basis within twenty-four (24) hours after being notified of such requirements by the Police Department. Quantities of items may also be purchased initially within one week of contract award. The contractor shall stock for pick up or deliver the initial quantities as ordered within one week after the purchase order is issued. Items may be picked up at the Contractor’s facility by the Department, during the normal operating hours of the vendor. .
