Specifications include, but are not limited to: Replacement of the existing fire alarm systems. Provide cellular dialers for each building for central station monitoring. a. Buildings to be included in the project: 1) Meadowlark Building. 2) Honeybee Building. b. Existing fire alarm devices shall be removed and where not replaced a blank coverplate shall be installed. Provide new ceiling tiles at existing ceiling mounted devices that are removed. Remove all flexible conduits up to nearest junction box. c. Refer to drawings for conduit and wiring support requirements. d. Existing wiring may be reused if approved by the fire alarm vendor. Provide new wiring as required for a fully functional system. e. The project shall be constructed so as to minimize system downtime. Work shall be coordinated with the Ownerís operating personnel so as to protect, to the fullest extent possible, the building and its occupants. f. The buildings are classified as a ìI-2î occupancy and are sprinklered., unless noted otherwise. g. The existing fire alarm system shall remain active throughout the construction project. Fire watch shall be coordinated for areas where the system is inactive during system changeover. The owner shall provide fire watch with assistance from the contractor. h. At the completion of the installation, in each building section, the new fire alarm system shall be fully tested and appropriately certified by the installing contractor. i. All existing wiring/conduit routes shall be verified. The contractor shall provide as-built riser diagrams and floor plans with exact wiring routes for new and existing wiring that is used on the project. This shall be included as part of the as-built drawings submitted at the end of the project.
