Specifications include, but are not limited to: Library Renovations Beaver City is accepting separate BIDS for the following work on the Beaver City Library: Schedule 1: Repoint mortar joints. 1.1 Repoint only portions of mortar showing signs of damage. 1.2 Taking care to protect existing ashlar masonry, re- move damaged mortar as necessary. 1.3 Clean adjacent masonry using gentlest means pos- sible, preferably low-pressure water, a light detergent, and a natural bristle brush. 1.4 Repoint joints using mortar that matches existing lime mortar to the greatest extent possible. Mortar to con- tain comparatively low amounts of Portland cement and high amounts of lime compared to mortar used in new construction. Coordinate with Beaver City and Utah State Historic Preservation Office as necessary. Joints to match existing in depth and profile. Schedule 2: Repair water damage at interior walls and ceilings. 2.1 Carefully remove furniture and casework as neces sary to access damaged portions of interior walls. Re- tain and protect until reinstallation is feasible. 2.2 Remove chipped, sagging, or otherwise damaged paint down to sound, undamaged surface. Sand edges to obtain smooth finish. Take all necessary precau- tions, as paint is likely to contain lead.
