Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.3.1 The contract for this work will be a modified ConsensusDoc 803. See link on cover page for a sample contract. 1.3.2 All design disciplines necessary to complete the scope of work. 1.3.3 Attend design kick-off meeting onsite to discuss desired outcome of the project with the Owner, Construction Manager, and Owner’s maintenance staff. 1.3.4 Use of the State of Iowa‘s construction management software program for uploading all documents, submitting and approving pay apps, and construction administration. The cost for the use of the software is paid by the Owner. 1.3.5 Design Scope: 1.3.5.1 The anticipated project site is 1.5 acres located off of Northwest Saylorville Drive, east of NW 110th Ct and the Navy Reserve Center. 1.3.5.2 A Request for Information (RFI) was previously conducted to understand fire training tower options, lead times, and potential costs. The RFI and the two responses will be provided by addendum. 1.3.5.3 Designer shall be responsible for all site surveying during the design phases. 1.3.5.4 Designer shall provide recommendations to DCI Group and the State of Iowa for geotechnical testing. Geotechnical services will be contracted by the State of Iowa following approved recommendations. 1.3.5.5 Designer shall coordinate with local utilities for the design of site utilities, including electrical, storm water, and water service. 1.3.5.6 Programming with the Department of Public Safety to understand fire training tower needs and ancillary construction including, but not limited to, site parking, staging or debriefing area, site drainage, fencing, site lighting, and utilities. 1.3.5.7 The fire training tower is intended to be a Class A training system, using wood or wood products as fuel to generate realistic fire and smoke in a controlled burn. 1.3.5.8 Designer shall provide design services for the new fire training tower. It is anticipated that the fire training tower structure will be a delegated design by the selected fire training tower provider. Designer shall coordinate with the selected supplier for final design of building foundations and ancillary work impacted by the tower design. Designers scope will include full design of civil, foundations, electrical, and plumbing. 1.3.5.9 Designer shall review and approve the delegated design by the selected supplier.
