Specifications include, but are not limited to: Eastern Kentucky University is seeking bids from qualified firms for improvements to our Burrier building. This invitation is for exterior repairs to the Burrier building as specified in the following bid at Eastern Kentucky University’s Richmond, KY Campus. The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and services necessary for the complete project including all items as indicated; This project consists of Exterior Repairs to the Burrier Building on Eastern Kentucky University’s Richmond, KY campus. The area affected includes the terrace area above occupiable spaces, their associated parapets, and exterior walls of the level below, as well as multiple exterior stairs of the building with their associated landings and walls. One aspect/objective of the scope of work is to resolve chronic moisture penetrations through the existing exterior concrete Terrace area. The work to be completed includes removal of various items (planters, removing concrete topping including the three (3) risers joining different sections of the terrace, removing membrane water proofing (which contains asbestos), removing the parapet masonry stone veneer and backup structure to underside of the proposed concrete deck, and removing metal gate in vicinity of the chiller) as well as installing: 1. The finished exterior concrete topcoat of the terrace will receive a polymer traffic coating (PUMA). 2. Regarding flashing: a. Raise the windowsills to above the exterior terrace finished surface b. Prepare exterior veneer of the “Living Center” to receive PUMA membrane and flashing, and through-wall flashing to approximately 12” above the exterior finished surface
