Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Portland, Bureau of Parks & Recreation, is seeking proposals for various professional services on an asneeded basis. These as-needed services are referred to as “price agreements,” and generally include work with short deadlines, scopes that may need to be developed quickly, and/or requiring expertise currently unavailable in-house. Task Orders will be issued to successful Proposer(s) under these price agreements as individual project needs are identified. • Develop Special Inspection preliminary scopes of work and programming for approval by the City; • Provide input into design and construction schedules, as well as service and maintenance costs for the project(s); • Perform site investigation, inspections, evaluation of conditions, laboratory and field testing, and verification of tests done by the construction contractor or a third party such as but not limited to: welding, compaction, sieve analysis, re-bar inspection, pedestrian and bicycle bridges both “as-is” and based on construction / reconstruction plans, and other Special Inspections of construction projects as required by PP&R • As part of the Special Inspections Category of Work the successful proposer(s) will perform, but not be limited to, the following duties: o Review in advance of construction the design drawings, project specifications, special provisions and testing requirements; o Notify the City of Portland in advance of any work where the design has irregularities, ambiguities, potential conflicts or changes affecting the design and/or construction of parks infrastructure, utilities or the public. o Inspect work performed by contractors. o Inspect materials furnished, including without limitation, the preparation, fabrication, or manufacture of materials to be used;
