Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Oregon, on behalf of its UO Portland Campus (University), is issuing this RFP for the procurement of landscaping services; All workers shall be under the supervision of an experienced landscape maintenance supervisor. All work shall be performed in accordance with standard horticultural practices, using modern techniques accepted by the industry. All work shall be performed in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws and standards for workplace safety. All work shall be scheduled so that horticultural tasks are completed at the proper times. Schedules may vary throughout the year as weather conditions dictate as agreed upon by the parties. The Proposer shall repair damages caused by its employees, subcontractors, or agents. The Proposer will visit the UO-Portland campus a minimum of 3-times per week to achieve the landscaping outcomes listed below. All tree and landscape maintenance activities will prioritize health and safety of campus users. Removal and additions of plants and trees will be approved by University staff prior the commencement of any such work. Mowing. Frequency and height of mowing will depend on current weather and growing conditions. If weather and soil conditions prohibit efficient mowing, lawns shall be mowed on the next regularly scheduled visit. For best fertilizer management in ornamental turfgrass, clippings should remain uncaught as long as they dissipate within 24 hours of mowing. Clippings shall be removed if they are unsightly for a particular location.
