Specifications include, but are not limited to: ODOT intends to transition to a cloud-based PKI certificate management software as a service (“PKIaaS”) platform, which will allow ODOT to increase service availability, decrease redundancy and will free up resources such as servers and employee time. Also, PKIaaS will enable the ODOT security team to provide secure services remotely in the event of inclement weather or a disaster declaration. The cost of migrating to cloud services is approximately $40,000, and annual licensing approximately $100,000 which is close in cost to the annual licensing fees ODOT currently pays to use the on-premises software. Over 5 years, transition to cloud PKIaaS and continued licensing, support and maintenance will cost around $540,000.
