Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Idaho Youth Challenge, a subset of the Idaho Military Division, host two semesters of students per year. In these two semesters, students live at the Idaho Youth Challenge full time and all meals are provided by the state. We are currently working on completing an ITB for a food contract. However, we would like to utilize Good Source. Good Source is a wholesale food distributor that provides food for educational institutions at only the cost of shipping. Due to the immense savings, we receive by ordering some food through Good Source (mainly snack food), we would an exemption from Competition in order to continue receiving these benefits. Our ITB document also states that up to 20% of food purchased by IDYC can be off contract. Good Source provides a range of food, however IDYC would like to use them mainly for snack foods with the potential of additional food should our contracted vendor once the ITB is complete, is not able to obtain certain foods.
