Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Peer Support Specialist will perform duties in conjunction with the Kenton County Detention Center’s Substance Abuse Program Director and Staff, and the Police LEAD (Law Enforcement Assistant Diversion) Coordinator. The Peer Support Specialist will assist Quick Response Teams responding to overdoses to assist with Naloxone outreach, establish connections, and provide harm reduction information by educating for overdoses and treatment options while providing easy access to Naloxone. The Peer Support Specialist will work with the Office of Drug Control Policy and Police Social Workers to coordinate visits. The Peer Support Specialist will be responsible for assisting clinicians, tracking data, distributing Naloxone and leaving behind material. The Peer Support Specialist will do follow-up calls and assist clinicians in care coordination. They will work with all partnering agencies. QRT will be conducted 24-72 hours after an overdose has taken place.
