Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this RFP is to enter an agreement with a qualified consulting firm (“Proposer”) to prepare an updated Food Systems Plan for the State of Rhode Island so that the Corporation, Department of Environmental Management, Department of Health, and all partners can collectively and better support the development of a more sustainable, equitable, and economically viable food system for Rhode Island residents. The Food Systems Plan will help to engage stakeholders across the food system to develop clear and measurable objectives, strategies, and metrics towards collective impact by 2030. Since the 2017 Food Strategy was launched, known as Relish Rhody, significant progress has been made; however, as the State emerges from the pandemic, there are important lessons to learn about building more resilient supply chains and supporting more equitable access to local and healthy foods and across Rhode Island.
