Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Topeka is soliciting bids for a residential demolition of a house and garage structure located at 616 SE Leland Street, Topeka, KS. A. Prior to issuance of the "Notice to Proceed" by the Property Maintenance Code Unit, the Demolition Contractor shall provide a copy of the Contractor’s demolition license, demolition permit, and verification from Construction Inspection that the sewer has been capped. If sewer is inaccessible without structural removal for access, and if agreed to by Construction Inspection or the Permits Division, the Demolition Contractor may post a bond in accordance with said bond procedures established by Development Services. B. All buildings described will be demolished; none will be relocated. C. Specific structures shall be demolished, including foundations, and complete removal of buildings, garages, steps, porches, sheds, fences, private sidewalks, and all other similar architectural structures. This information will be located on the document provided by the Property Code Enforcement Unit, which references the specific property titled "Specifications for Demolition". D. Materials or debris may not be burned on the premises. E. Adequate protection and safety measures must be provided to all persons and property. The work should be executed in a manner to avoid interference with the use of, or the passage to and from, adjoining buildings and facilities. • The City will arrange for the disconnection of utility service connections. Before starting demolition the contractor shall verify that all utilities have been disconnected. The contractor is responsible for calling dig safe to get locates. • The sewer shall be capped. • Demolish and remove the house and garage and foundations. • All demolition materials shall be dumped in a demolition landfill licensed by Kansas Department of Health and Environment. • Demolition landfill receipts to show landfill usage is required prior to payment for services rendered.
