Specifications include, but are not limited to: Surficial geologic mapping of the Newport, Newport Center, and Sutton Quadrangles at 1:24,000 scale: The study areas for new surficial geologic mapping are shown on Figure 1. The area to be mapped is ~135 square miles within the watersheds of the Missisquoi and Passumpsic Rivers and Lake Memphremagog. The contract scope is to produce surficial geologic maps of the quadrangles with at least one representative cross section for each quadrangle and collect data which can be used to produce groundwater resource maps and hazard maps at a scale of 1:24,000. All mapping will use a LiDAR basemap and will be produced in a geographical information system and exported as PDFs. Data will include lithologic contacts of surficial materials, bedrock outcrop locations, glacial features, detailed descriptions of map units and a report with a discussion of the glacial and deglacial history of the quadrangles. Data files will be delivered as shapefiles using the format of the State of Vermont and will use standard map unit nomenclature supplied by the State.
