Specifications include, but are not limited to: Iowa State University is requesting bids for forages as described below. All forages should have no rain once cut. All loads will be inspected, and any loads deemed unfit, and will be rejected. Vendors must produce a forage test on the alfalfa and low potassium hay. Forages will be re-tested upon delivery. Any loads that do not meet the minimum specifications after ISU’s testing, will need to arrange for a pickup and be removed from ISU’s facilities or negotiated for a mutually agreed upon reduced price. A. 700-ton of Premium Alfalfa large square bales RFV>160 ADF< 30 NDF< 36 CP> 20 RFQ> 135 DM> 18% Preference for all hay taken from same fields and same cutting. 4x4x8 or 3x4x8 bales preferred B. 70-ton of large square bale of Low Potassium Wheat straw <2.5% Potassium 4x4x8 or 3x4x8 bales preferred C. 800 large square bales bedding straw 4x4x8 or 3x4x8 bales preferred
