Specifications include, but are not limited to: This Request for Application (RFA) is issued for the purpose of improving academic and cultural achievement opportunities in alignment with the requirements of the Indian Education Act, Sections 22-23A-1 through 22-23A-11 NMSA 1978. Grants will be made available to those public entities listed in the Appendix A and B of this RFA, including tribal departments of education and local education agencies (LEAs), including statechartered charter schools and locally chartered charter schools, that serve a significant number of Native American students in New Mexico. Increase positive student academic achievement; Increase cultural knowledge; Increase readiness for post-secondary education, career pathways, and civic life/community leadership; and Increase educational engagement and outcomes, including improved retention, graduation rates, attendance rates, and standardized test scores.
