Specifications include, but are not limited to: Through this Request for Proposal (RFP) the Office of Purchasing and contracting (hereinafter the “State”) is seeking to establish contracts with one or more companies that can provide seeks professional archaeological services to conduct various tasks, including Archaeological Resource Assessments (ARAs), as well as Phase I, II, and III investigations of proposed work sites on state-owned lands; as well as projects on non-State lands granted through ACCD, ANR, AOT and BGS. Management of lands and grant activities under the jurisdiction of ACCD, ANR and BGS involve activities that may have an adverse effect on historic properties. Professional archaeological studies will be undertaken by a qualified contractor to ensure that management actions and grant activities are in compliance with Section 106 National Historic Preservation Act (16USC 470), Title 22 of Vermont Statutes Annotated, Chapter 14; and/or Title 10 of Vermont Statutes Annotated (Act 250). The archaeological professional will provide expert technical assistance including tasks such as desk reviews, field studies, research, problem solving, education, management recommendations, and others as requested.
