Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Rhode Island Division of Purchases on behalf of the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) is considering issuance of an RFP for the implementation and support of an Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS). The desired ATMS will give appropriate RIDOT personnel, most notably its Transportation Management Center (TMC) Operators, the ability to monitor and control the various RIDOT-owned intelligent transportation systems (ITS) (such as Cameras, Changeable Message Signs, Wrong Way Driver Systems, etc.) in one place / from one platform, instead of via the individual, disparate, and manufacturer-specific software that has been used to date. The desired ATMS is also envisioned to support and/or provide RIDOT with improvements in the collection, integration, analytics, and/or dissemination of ITS-generated and other emerging types of (e.g., crowdsourced and third-party, where available and value-providing) traffic- and travel-related data, such that the RIDOT TMC can and will more efficiently, reliably, and accurately share out real-time roadway travel-related status information with both internal RIDOT sections/units and external stakeholders such as road users and incident responders.
