Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The College intends to contract for Digital Accessibility Evaluation Consulting Services as further defined and specified in paragraph 1.9 below. B. Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is looking for a consulting service to provide accessibility evaluations of vendor technology products the College may consider for purchase. The accessibility of the College’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) products and services to individuals with disabilities is essential. The College intends to give disabled employees and members of the public access to information comparable to the access available to others to the highest extent feasible. It is the College’s goal to acquire products that achieve the highest degree of conformance to the Federal Section 508 Revised Accessibility Standards and the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. However, the College does not necessarily have the in-house expertise to accurately evaluate the degree of conformance to the aforementioned Accessibility Standards or may not have the available resources to provide such evaluation for certain procurement projects. C. The goal of this solicitation is to obtain the digital accessibility evaluation consulting service that would provide an accessibility compliance assessment of specified vendor technology product, a report describing the accessibility barriers found in testing, and recommendations regarding accessibility impacts, accommodation planning, and communication considerations if the product was purchased by the College. D. It is anticipated that this accessibility evaluation consulting service would primarily be utilized for technology purchases that need to have a high degree of accessibility compliance due to the intended use by a large number of individuals either on the College Campus and/or by the general public. Such large product end user projects are typically 5 to 10 per fiscal year.
