The City of Independence experienced a wind storm on March 31, 2023, that caused damage to numerous City building roofs. The City of Independence is seeking proposals to repair those roofs as identified below by our insurance carrier. The locations for repair and installation are: • 220 E. Maple – Independence Municipal Library o Shingles blown off the roof and the roof is now leaking. • 901 N. 9th – Pole Barn Roof – corrugated – galv roofing replacement • Riverside Park – Tennis Club House – shingles missing • Stich Shelter House – Riverside Park – Displaced tile Repair • Garden House – Riverside Park – replacement (historic bldg. would need an estimate to replace “like” type of asbestos shingle currently on the building and an estimate on 3-tab - “deluxe grade” (50 year) laminate shingles) • Open 4-H Building – Riverside Park (West – Middle building) loose shingles on the West side – spot repair • Train Depot / Riverside Park – loose and missing shingles • Mausoleum (West) – clean with pressure/chemical, apply an aluminum coating • AWOL - 116 S. 23rd Street – Soffit & Facia repair, loose furnace vent • 225 E. Main Street – clean with pressure & chemical, apply the aluminum coating with fiber • 122 W. Locust Garage roof – tear off and replace shingles
