Specifications include, but are not limited to: WIM Data Collection Units - Each WIM data collection unit supplied must be a stand-alone data collection system, which will be deployed at a roadway site. It is to consist of weighing, classifying, recording, data storage equipment, firmware and software, battery power supply and charging equipment, and modem or other communications equipment, to furnish a complete functional data collecting system. The in-pavement axle sensors are not part of this contract, however; all other components such as charge amplifiers need to be supplied as part of WIM system. Each unit is to operate on a continuous basis, collecting data on axle configuration and spacing, axle and gross weights; vehicle classification (based on the number and spacing of axles), total volume of vehicles, vehicle speeds, lengths, gaps, and headways. It will measure axle loads applied to each sensor and use them to estimate the axle weights and gross weights. The Department requires 2-lane, 3-lane, 4-lane, 6-lane, and 8-lane units. Remote Connectivity and Software Each unit must be accessible via remote connection to an office computer. The awarded Bidder(s) will provide Desktop Software or SaaS for remote access to the data collection units for system monitoring, setup, data transfer and analysis. The Department expects the awarded Bidder(s) to include the hardware and software required for remote connectivity, excluding any SIM cards for modem communication, which will be supplied by the Department. Hardware and software must be able to communicate over the internet via a third-party network. The units must be capable of connecting over the US Cellular, AT&T, and Verizon cell data networks. User shall be able to connect to the WIM from a remote computer to perform management tasks using desktop software or SaaS. All computers will be provided by, and software installed by, the Department.
