Specifications include, but are not limited to: The STATE OF MONTANA, (DNRC) Department of Natural Resources / Trust Land Management Division (hereinafter referred to as “the State”) is soliciting bids for Pre-Commercial Tree Thinning. Total unit acreage is 262.9 acres. The unit contains primarily lodgepole pine and Douglas-fir with lesser amounts of ponderosa pine. Trees range in size from approximately 1 to 30 feet tall and 0.0 to 6.0 DBH. Tree spacing and species composition depends on aspect. Spacing ranges from approximately 500 trees per acre to 1767 trees per acre. The density is highest in the middle ¾ of the unit. See project summary below for more specific information. Total TPA in the project summary includes both leave (target 170 TPA) and cut trees. The general spacing between the understory leave trees will be around 15 X 15 foot spacing.
