Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Wichita seeks to provide funding to qualified For-profit Firm(s), Nonprofit Organization(s), Education Institution(s), and/or Government Agencies to administer a Healthy Corner Store Initiative pilot program in the City of Wichita. The City seeks to partner with For-profit Firm(s), Nonprofit Organization(s), Education Institution(s), and/or Government Agencies engaged in increasing access to nutritious and culturally appropriate foods with a service area that includes the eligible census tracts illustrated in the focus area map (Attachment D). Awarded dollars will support implementation of the Healthy Corner Store Initiative (HCSI) pilot program by working with existing small food retailers to incentivize and encourage them to stock fresh, healthy food options. This includes funding to lower barriers to help small food retailers make physical improvements, purchase and/or convert equipment, distribute food, market existing and/or new healthy items, provide store-owner training, administer nutrition incentives, and increase community outreach and engagement to stimulate sales of healthy food options
