Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Rhode Island Department of Transportation-Division of Project Management (RIDOT) is seeking qualified Consultant firms to establish a single performance-based contract with an engineering consulting firm to revise the Highway, Traffic, and Bridge Design Manuals (collectively “Manuals”, the Roadway Standard Details, and the Bridge Design Standard Details (collectively “Standard Details”). This revision will ensure that the manuals and details are consistent with current AASHTO design code standards current construction best practices, organized in a standard clear and concise electronic format allowing for ease of future updates. This Manual is intended to be utilized primarily as an aid and reference to the Designer and is not meant to be a substitute for engineering judgment. Designers should consider all appropriate factors during design to develop solutions that address the specific safety, operational, environmental, and regulatory requirements of the site or Project.
