Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The contractor shall inspect the actual site conditions and excavation conditions prior to starting construction. The contractor shall notify the general contractor and the architect of any conditions regarding soils, ground water or any other issue which may require additional or special engineering or design. 2. It is the Contractors’ responsibility to ensure that all construction conforms to all applicable codes. 3. Locate bottom of all footings on solid, undisturbed soil. Remove unsuitable soil (if any) until acceptable soil found as needed. 4. The following classes of concrete are required: - Class I - Footings and piers: minimum 3000 PSI - Class II - Interior slabs on grade: Minimum 3500 PSI, water reducer. - Required. Minimum cement content of 517 lbs. per cubic yard. - Class III - Exterior concrete: Minimum 4000 PSA air entraining admixture. - Admixture and water reducer required. -Class IV - Backfill below footings: Minimum 1500 PSI, Lean mix. 5. Vapor retardant to be min 6 mil polyethylene sheet. Lap joints min 12 inches. 6. Exterior expansion joints shall be full depth with 1/2 inch joint filler, where slabs abut vertical surfaces, at intersections of sidewalks, at abut changes in width, and at spacing not to exceed 30 feet. 7. Sealed truss plans and layout to be submitted to the City prior to installation.
