Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Description of the commodity that USM is seeking to procure: Math Works products are used in academic units for research, teaching, R&D, etc. Math Works will have open access for ease of administration through the Math Works portal, end user technical support, IT installation and support. MathWorks produces mathematical computing software for engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and researchers. MATLAB, the language of technical computing, is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation. Simulink is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based Design of multi-domain dynamic and embedded systems. 2. Explanation of why the commodity is the only one that meets the needs of the agency: MATLAB, the language of technical computing, is a programming environment for algorithm development, data analysis, visualization, and numeric computation. Simulink is a graphical environment for simulation and Model-Based Design of multi-domain dynamic and embedded systems. MATLAB software is used in math, sciences, engineering, etc. It is the only software that can be used most of our STEM departments so that we can collaborate on projects for both teaching and research. MATLAB also provides access to over 90 toolboxes. Several of our courses rely on, and much of our research depends on MATLAB. Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification.
