Specifications include, but are not limited to: The he New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs (BEA) is the Administering Entity for the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program Grant. This grant is provided by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), U.S. Department of Commerce. BEA has determined it would like to issue a subgrant to another entity (or entities) to write the five-year action plan, initial proposal, and final proposal on the agency’s behalf. New Hampshire recognizes the valuable opportunity the BEAD Program Grant provides in developing a plan to address unserved and underserved broadband coverage locations, underrepresented communities, and Community Anchor Institutions within the state. The BEAD Program Grant will assist the state to address several key challenges including the lack of fast and reliable broadband internet infrastructure, the inability to access broadband – either through affordability or lack of proper access devices, and the need to provide meaningful digital skills training to represented populations in an effort to close the digital divide.
