Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. MODEL a) The model must be latest available, two-wheel motorcycle factory designed, and equipped for highway law enforcement service. b) Motorcycle must be rated and certified by the manufacturer to safely operate at speeds of 110 miles per hour or more. c) Each model must visibly display the vehicle identification number (VIN), gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), date manufactured, and all additional information required by Federal and State regulations. 2. ENGINE The motorcycle engine must be a heavy-duty “police package” version of the manufacturer’s standard engine, and must meet the following requirements: a) Have at least 1200 cubic centimeters (cc) displacement; b) Minimum of 2 cylinders; c) Liquid, or combination of air and liquid cooled; d) Four-cycle operation; e) Produce one hundred (100) horsepower or higher; f) Engine and transmission must be isolated from the motorcycle frame through a rubber; mounting system or equivalent vibration isolation system. g) Reciprocating engine parts to be balanced by the manufacturer in an effort to reduce engine, and consequential motorcycle vibration during the service life of the motorcycle; h) Must be fuel injected. i) Have a water-cooled Engine, an auxiliary cooling fan(s) must be incorporated to reduce overheating while being operated at low speeds or prolonged idling in hot weather; j) Be equipped with an assisted oil cooling system; k) Have a minimum Compression ratio: 10.0:1. 3. POWER TRAIN The motorcycle power train shall be shaft driven. 4. CLUTCH The clutch must be: a) The latest type, multiple-disc, wet type. b) A hand operated clutch lever and must be located on the left handlebar. c) A Hydraulically actuated clutch system. 5. TRANSMISSION The Offered motorcycles transmission must have the following specifications: a) Have a minimum of six (6) speeds; b) Gears with constant mesh design; c) Shift pattern as follows: Neutral located between the first and second gears and must shift down from neutral to first and up from neutral to second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth gears; d) Have a foot shift lever of rocker type and designed to be operated by toe, or toe and heel, and must not interfere with normal foot position on the foot peg or board; e) Foot shift lever must be located on the left side of motorcycle; f) An indicator light, readily visible to the rider, must be provided to indicate when the transmission is in the neutral position; g) Provide visible numeric indication of current gear selected;
