Specifications include, but are not limited to: Continue to review, develop, and update new training curriculum for Level l and 2 ensuring compliance with State and Federal Laws. Communicate with school administrators, transportation supervisors, and instructors regarding Level l and 2 training courses. Select, hire, and provide compensation for qualified individuals to serve as instructors. Determine the number of Level 1 and 2 instructors needed to provide training throughout the state. Train new and current instructors for Level 1 and 2 courses. Meet with Instructors at least annually to evaluate the Nebraska pupil transportation vehicle driver training program and related curriculum. On a monthly basis review and monitor records of drivers that have been granted waivers under the rules. Notify affected drivers regarding their status in this program prior to end of waiver. Review and maintain records on class enrollments for Level 1 and 2. If required, provide driver information to DMV as participants complete Level 1 and 2 School Bus training for inclusion into the DMV database. Cards will continue to be issued to drivers holding operating licenses from other states. This applies to all courses taught in Nebraska and to all pupil transportation vehicle drivers. Assume responsibility of the process to provide documentation that qualifies drivers of pupil transportation vehicles for LB347. Passed in 2017 o Establish Level l and 2 fee schedules as approved by NDE o Notify driver and employing school when driver meets qualifying criteria o Collect driver physicals annually o Notify driver (and employing school if available) six months prior to expiration of Level training. Monitor and conduct onsite visits to Level 1 and 2 training sites as needed. Refer all outside communications and inquiries to NDE that relate to interpretations of NDE Rules 91 and 92 or statutes related to pupil transportation. Continue an effective documentation procedure for Level 1 and 2 waivers. Provide schools and drivers with Department of Motor Vehicle schedules or statewide licensing sites. Notify pupil transportation vehicle drivers prior to the expiration of their Level 1 or 2 Certification. Attend and participate in activities sponsored by the Nebraska School Transportation Association. Participate in transportation activities and committees as recommended by NDE. Maintain current class schedule information for Level 1 and 2 training. Post Level 1 and Level 2 class schedule (dates and location) on the Contractor website at least 2 weeks in advance of the classes. (Special on-demand classes may be less than 2 weeks.) Participate in the revision of NDE Transportation Rules 91 and 92. Participate in creation of Pupil Transportation Best Practices Document.
