Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Billings Fire Department wishes to obtain the services of a licensed physician(s) to provide services for its Emergency Medical Services (EMS). The City is seeking a contract for an initial term of two (2) years, with two (2) additional two-year renewal terms based on satisfactory performance and mutual agreement of both parties. The Medical Director shall perform duties including advising, consulting, training, counseling and overseeing services, including administrative and management functions. At all times during the term, the Medical Director shall have a current and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Montana; and be a participating provider in the Medicare and Medicaid programs. Within sixty (60) days of contract execution, the Medical Director shall complete a board-approved medical training program or provide a board-approved exemption from the training on a form provided by the board. The Medical Director will provide documentation to the City showing compliance with the foregoing upon request. The physician(s) functioning as Medical Director shall devote a minimum of five (5) hours of service monthly; provided, however, there shall be no schedule of fixed or definite hours. The Medical Director’s availability to provide services shall be determined solely by the Medical Director, considering both the reasonable needs of the City and the reasonable needs of the Medical Director in maintaining his other independent clinical functions.
