Specifications include, but are not limited to: IDJC has an interest in the success of assessment centers in Idaho communities. The purpose of assessment centers is to prevent and divert youth from the juvenile justice and child welfare systems through a single point of contact. In March, 2022, IDJC awarded a consulting contract (March 2022 – March 2023) to the National Assessment Center Association (NAC) in the amount of $23,300.00 for grant solicitation development, review and scoring and training related to assessment centers. In July, 2022, IDJC awarded another consulting contract (July 2022 – June 2023) to NAC for additional assessment center related consulting. To date, only $450.00 has been spent under this contract. (We recognize now that the second of the above two mentioned contracts are for a period of longer than one year, and so the period of the second contract should have ended this month. However, we do have on-going assessment center consulting needs. We will need to award a contract for additional consulting, estimated to cost approximately $35,000.00 for the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. Funding allowing, it is likely that we will continue to have needs for consulting relating to assessment centers. And, we have found that NAC is actually the sole source for these consulting services. Please see the attached sole source letter. Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification.
