Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State Office Building Renovation and proposed addition into Leif Erickson Park will require an Archeological Phase 1 literature search and survey per Department of Administration State Archologist Office requirements. The area of study will be Leif Erickson Park, and State Office Building proper; 2.1 A literature and site survey per Phase 1 requirements will be required. Phase 1 Literature Searches: • Develop site locational models • Determine areas of previous terrain disturbance or land-use • Provide historic context to help evaluate site significance • Provide background information for developing data recovery plans • Provide sufficient information for National Register nominations or site interpretation 2.2 Phase 1 Survey: • Determine if sites exist in a particular area and define the approximate vertical and horizontal boundaries of any sites within an area without significantly harming site integrity. • Visual inspection • Surface walkover (pedestrian survey) • Controlled surface collection • Shovel testing • Augering, coring, and electronic remote sensing. 2.3 Project Budgeted/Cost of Construction: TBD through design 2.4 Project Schedule: a.
