Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of the Cold Milling Class 3 of the mainline is to remove all existing asphaltic concrete down to the FASB below. The milling depth will be increased or reduced, as directed by the Engineer. Millings from the Cold Milling Class 3 operation will be approximately 4” SP4 on FASB. The Contractor shall be responsible to manage RAP stockpiles and RAP quality. Following Cold Milling Class 3, the existing FASB shall be broomed and tack applied at a rate of 0.36 Gal/SY, as directed by the Engineer. A pneumatic roller shall be used to knead the tack into the FASB. The contractor may dampen the surface of the existing FASB base as required for proper bonding and if approved by the Engineer. The work and materials required will be subsidiary to the tons of the Asphaltic Concrete Type SPR. The top lift of asphaltic concrete shall be placed with the mainline overlay. Traffic will not be permitted on surfaces milled to a depth greater than 2 inches.
