Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. This Section defines some best management practices (BMPs) for erosion and sediment control measures and construction practices the Contractor shall use to prevent soil erosion and avoid water pollution. 2. a. The Department and the Contractor are co-permittees of the NPDES Construction Storm Water General Permit. b. The Contractor shall comply with all conditions required by the current NPDES Construction Storm Water General Permit. 3. The Contractor shall exercise every reasonable precaution throughout the life of the contract to prevent silting of the waters of the state, the project site, and adjacent property. Construction of drainage facilities, as well as performance of other contract work which will contribute to the control of siltation, shall be carried out in conjunction with earthwork operations or as soon thereafter as is practicable.
