At North Central Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, there are two (2) existing hot waters heaters located in mechanical room B128 and in mechanical room C143. The hot water heaters are GWH-1B and GWH-2C. The contractor must remove the existing two (2) hot water heaters and replace with new. Additional information on the project is listed below. B. Hot water heaters located in the two (2) mechanical rooms, B128 and C143, are located first floor and area accessed from the outside of the building: 1. Existing hot water tank and burner assembly information for the two (2) hot water heaters, GWH-1B and GWH-2C: a. The existing hot water heaters are manufactured by Rheem – Ruud Universal and were installed in 2016. b. The model no. is GNU100 – 400A. c. Serial Numbers: A301606185 and A351611043. d. Part No.: 153932-2 and 227170-1. e. The input Btu/h is 399,900 and 176 kW. f. The recovery rate in one hour is 387.8 gallons. g. Storage capacity is 100 gallons. h. The hot water heater operates on natural gas. i. The minimum inlet gas pressure is 6.0” WC / 1,495 Pa. j. The maximum inlet gas pressure is 10.5” WC / 2,610 Pa. k. The manifold gas pressure is 2.5” WC / 620 Pa. l. The hot water heater electric is 120 volts, single phase, 60 hertz, and 1.5 amps. C. The new hot water heater requirements. The contractor must meet the requirements listed in specifications section 1.01(C) or equal: 1. Must be a minimum storage of 215 gallons of water. 2. Input But/h: 199,000 and 58 kW. 3. Minimum recovery rate from 40 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit is 250 gallons per hour. 4. Working pressure (Hydrostatic test): 150 PSI and 1,034 kPa. 5. Must operate off natural gas. 6. Minimum inlet gas pressure: 4.5” WC and 1,121 Pa. 7. Maximum inlet gas pressure: 10.5 WC and 2,616 Pa. 8. Manifold gas pressure: 1.4” WC and 349 Pa. 9. Electrical: 120-volt, singles phase, 60 hertz, 5-amps. 10. Must be a minimum of 83% thermal efficiency. 11. Must be a low NOx water heater. 12. The hot water tank interior tank must be a duplex stainless-steel tank. 13. Manufacturers: a. Available Manufacturers: Manufacturer shall be a company specializing in manufacturing the products specified in this section with minimum twenty years’ experience. The water heaters shall be manufactured by a company that has achieved certification to the ISO 9001Quality Management System. b. The water heaters shall be ETL listed as a complete unit. The heater shall satisfy current Federal Energy Policy Act standards for both thermal efficiency and stand-by heat losses as established for gas fired water heaters incorporating storage tanks. c. The water heaters shall be ETL listed as a complete unit. Manufacturers: PVI is the basis of design. Acceptable manufacturers shall be subject to compliance with the requirements.
