Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Project Partners are requesting in person training which should include the following: 1. Electrical Information: • Explanation of battery types • Information on battery construction and chemistry • Explanation on electrical currents as they relate to batteries and other electrical components of a potential scenario or project such as PV and/or EV charging infrastructure • Hands-on components with real life examples of technologies, electrical wiring and other components are preferred 2. First Responder Hazard Considerations: • Battery hazard and risk assessment for response • Recognizing and responding to thermal runaway • Response considerations for various scenarios with batteries and other electrical components • Battery fire firefighting strategy and tactics • Proper PPE • Decontamination requirements • Decomposition products • Environmental impacts • Provide technical guides/job aids for risk-based response
